Erasmus Exchange
Erasmus, the flagship EU education and training programme, promotes student and staff mobility. It seeks to achieve pan-European cooperation involving higher education institutions and other key players in the knowledge-based economy. It supports the creation of a European Higher Education Area through increased mobility. This allows for more innovation, growth and jobs in the EU. Over 1.5 million students have participated so far with a goal of reaching 3 million by 2012. Together with an enriched study experience, Erasmus also provides exposure to different cultures.
In addition to students, Erasmus also targets teachers, trainers, and others involved in higher education. Switzerland is currently negotiating a full ERASMUS membership. Meanwhile, the Swiss government is copying the programme and covers student grants and teacher and staff mobility costs.
Students interested in an exchange period should contact the international relations coordinator (IRC) at their home school. Application deadline for the next academic year is 15 March to enable us to apply for your grants in time.
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences has an ever-increasing number of Bilateral Agreements with partner schools throughout Europe.
